The story of AIESEC 2015 begins over 15 years ago, with the creation of AIESEC's first midterm ambition.
In 1996 AIESEC developed a midterm ambition. The first incarnation of this ambition was called "Direction 96", and its purpose was to bring a long term direction to AIESEC.
It wasn't until 1999 at International Congress hosted in South Africa that a midterm ambition was created that converged the thoughts of the many young people in AIESEC. The midterm ambition which was created at IC '99 was AIESEC 2005 and called for AIESEC to deliver 10,000 exchanges by the year 2005, amongst many other achievements.
Unfortunately, this midterm ambition was not considered so successful as AIESEC did not manage to achieve the goal of 10,000 exchanges in 2005. AIESEC 2005, however, brought a sense of unity and common direction to the organisation; something that was missing for many years. This sense of unity and common direction was enhanced further with the creation of AIESEC 2010. AIESEC 2010 was developed at International Congress 2005 in India through a methodology called "Appreciative Inquiry".
AIESEC 2010 contained measures of success as well as a planning & tracking framework that supported entities in the network to improve their operations. Today AIESEC 2010 is considered to be a very successful midterm ambition due to achievements and stories created.
As AIESEC achieved AIESEC 2010, the time came for AIESEC to step back, re-evaluate itself, and determine a new midterm ambition. The process to create this new ambition began in November 2009, and by International Presidents Meeting 2010 in Tunisia the process to create AIESEC 2015, our new midterm ambition, began. The journey to create AIESEC 2015 began with the "DREAM Process", and this guided the network through 1.5 years of creation. This journey of change management will come to a close at International Congress 2011 in Kenya with the finalisation of the AIESEC 2015 midterm ambition.
Below you will find more information about how AIESEC 2015 has been developed and at the end you will find FAQs and some curious facts.
Enjoy the story!
D.R.E.A.M process
AIESEC has been co-creating 2015 through D.R.E.A.M process, which contains the next parts:

Discovery: it’s about finding what makes special and successful AIESEC today and which would be our roots of success for 2015.
Role-modelling will focus on engaging physically and virtually the membership in setting the 2015 ambition statement and respective BHAG for the next 5 years.
Engagement and Achievement are key stage to constantly engage the organisation in the evolution of AIESEC and at the same time ensure that we achieve our 2010 performance.
Movement is where a massive communication will ensure that our 2015 midterm ambition will be a movement from the whole organisation and that the alignment is ensured.
DISCOVERY
After IPM 2010, Tunisia, AIESEC started a process of collecting stories and engaging national and local committees in the co-creation of AIESEC 2015.
Stories were collected from 170 members and 482 alumni. With these stories, members and alumni shared the best part of their AIESEC Experience.
AIESEC also launched an LC Engagement Guide to support local committees with their engagement with AIESEC 2015. You can find the booklet here.
ROLE MODELLING
The Role-Modelling phase happened during International Congress 2010 in India where more than 600 delegates co-created the AIESEC 2015 statements and the BHAG*.
*ENGAGE AND DEVELOP EVERY YOUNG PERSON IN THE WORLD.

ENGAGEMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT
Engagement and Achievement were the key stages which were constant throughout the entire D.R.E.A.M. Process; there was a constant engagement through different entities and initiatives.
The main initiative of engagement was the "Stories of the Future Writing Competition". You can read them here. Also, you can take a look at the press-release here.
Many people were connected with AIESEC 2015 through our social media channel! You can see below the conversations that went through the channel since its creation.
Regarding the Achievement phase, this was meant to balance the operations of AIESEC and the conversations about the future. By concluding 2010 and achieving most of the organizational results we feel that the organization reached a great story of achievement, where every member contributed to that.
MOVEMENT
The Movement phase was defined at IPM 2011 in Mexico. This phase has the objective of ensuring that all education, changes, new materials, system adaptations for AIESEC 2015 are ready before IC 2011 in Kenya.
From IPM onwards you will be able to see all the materials in this 2015 initiative from AIESEC International. At the top you can see the different sections, with the explanation of every single step, program and initiative about 2015.
